About Deanna
Hey, I’m a wildlife artist with a passion for the creatures that often go unseen or unheard. Based in Reno, Nevada, I create realistic watercolor paintings that shine a light on the vulnerable and endangered species we share this world with.
My work is about more than painting on paper. It’s about life. Connection. Presence. I want every viewer to feel something — a spark, a bond, maybe even a moment of awe, that reminds them these animals are still here… and still worth fighting for.
Behind the Work
Watercolor is my chosen medium, fluid, expressive, and alive in its unpredictability. Much like the subjects I paint.
My inspiration often begins with a gaze, the direct stare of a bison, the gentle nuzzle of a sea otter pup, or the fluttering weight of a bumblebee bat. From there, I build layers of emotion and realism, letting color and texture give breath to these beings.
Climate change, habitat loss, and extinction aren’t abstract ideas in my work; they’re the silent backdrop. My goal isn’t to preach, but to invite. To create a sense of intimacy and understanding between the viewer and the animal, one piece at a time.

Dreams In Progress
One of my greatest hopes is to use my art to give back, to someday contribute directly to wildlife conservation through donations and volunteer work.
While I’m not quite there yet, I hold this dream close as I continue building a sustainable creative practice. Every painting I make, every conversation sparked, every person who connects with my work brings that future one step closer.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Your support is helping me build something meaningful.
Thank You For Being Here
Whether you’ve just discovered my work or have followed me for a while, thank you. Every kind word, every share, every purchase, and every moment spent with my art means more than I can express.
This path can be uncertain at times, but knowing there are people out there who feel the same wonder and love for animals as I do keeps me going.
Your support helps keep their stories alive. And for that, I’m
endlessly grateful.
